The Market Managers wish to thank all of our shoppers, vendors, and volunteers for a fantastic season at Overlea Farmers Market! We enjoyed bringing many new vendors to you this season, along with many exciting new “themed” market weeks, and can’t thank you enough for continuing to support our local growers, makers, creators, and merchants as well as your local community. Also a special thank you to Baltimore County Government for their continued support with funding for the market, as well as many of our local representatives that support the market by coming to shop!!
We are excited to have launched our Community Compost Collection during our last three markets this season, and we are proud to tell you we kept approximately 130 pounds of food scraps out of the landfills and instead added to the compost used for cut flowers by our partner and market vendor Ladybrook Farm. Compost collection will continue throughout our off-season mostly on a bi-weekly basis. See our Facebook page (facebook.com/overleafarmersmarket) to stay up to date!
We look forward to seeing you and continuing to grow our community through this amazing local gem of a market! Season 5 kicks off May 30th…stay tuned!
You are Warmly Invited to Attend!
Please come out and join your neighbors for the 6th Annual Overlea Community Tree Lighting event, December 14th at 7pm! Sippel Electric has hung over 600 feet of lights on our 30 foot tree. Carrabba’s Italian Grill Overlea and Central Alarmers will provide delicious sweet treats and hot chocolate. Weis Market has donated s’mores and eggnog. Raymond Geddes & Company will hand out small gifts for the children. Santa will arrive with the Rosedale Volunteer Fire Company, and the St. Michael-St.Clement School choir will sing Christmas carols. Talented local singer Josie Baltimore will also delight the crowds with her signature Christmas classics. It promises to be another great family event in Overlea, and our generous community partners are making it extra special! Parking is available on the rear lot of the community center, and at the rear of Raymond Geddes Inc., across Belair Road at W. Elm Avenue. See you there!
