Mr. Paul Kristoff was appointed Principal of St. Michael School in August of 2014. Since then, he has already made an impact on the School. In the first few months, he secured a grant from the Marion I. & Henry J. Knott Foundation for $45,000 for technology. Founded in 1977, the Marion I. & Henry J. Knott Foundation is a Catholic family foundation committed to honoring its founders’ legacy of generosity to strengthen the community within the Archdiocese of Baltimore. In addition, Mr. Kristoff was awarded a grant from the State of Maryland Aging Building’s Fund in the amount of $24,000 for electricity and plumbing updates. Mr. Kristoff also has plans to cover all of the chalk boards in the school with a film so that they will be white boards for the teachers to use. He spent hours of his own time and with the help of several parents and faculty members, painted a majority of the school. He encouraged the students to paint murals which now hang in the school hallways. Mr. Kristoff was instrumental in updating the phones in the School and Parish offices. He has implemented a positive behavior recognition program whereby teachers teach a positive behavior to the students each week, i.e. Respect, and then teachers recognize the behavior in their students throughout the week and these students are recognized during announcements. Mr. Kristoff’s energy has permeated the Faculty, Staff, Parents, and School Community and he and his family have been warmly welcomed to the St. Michael’s Community.
Mr. Paul Kristoff is a parishioner at Immaculate Conception parish in Towson. He served as Assistant Principal for Baltimore County Public Schools for eight years. Prior to this leadership role, Mr. Kristoff was an elementary school teacher and a teacher mentor for the gifted and talented program. His knowledge, experience, enthusiasm, commitment to mission and personal desire to share his faith with the school community will honor traditions inspire innovation and enhance the learning experiences for all students. Mr. Kristoff holds a Masters in the Arts of Teaching from Notre Dame of Maryland University and a BA in Business/ Economics from Randolph-Macon College. In addition, Mr. Kristoff has earned his Administration Level II certification and is the recipient of both teaching and leadership honors and awards.
Mr. Kristoff has been happily married to Kelly for sixteen years and they have three children: Cate (13), Carter (11) and Charlie (8). Outside of school, Mr. Kristoff is an avid golfer and a sports enthusiast. He also loves to work around the house and spending time with his children.
